Chlorine
Chlorine’s main use is the purification of drinking water. It can also be used to produce pharmaceuticals, in metallurgy, electronics and food industries. All of these sectors use chemical products such as hydrochloric acid which contains chlorine.
Vinyl Chloride Monomer (VCM)
VCM is the product of the reaction of ethylene and chlorine. Firstly, EDC is created and through thermal cracking transformed into VCM. Vinyl Chloride Monomer is especially useful in the production of PVC resins, being their primary raw material. PVC is created as a result of VCM polymerization. It comes in two product types with a range of various grades, which our clients can use in various applications.
Chlorine
Similarly, as in the case of caustic soda, the production of chlorine involves passing a powerful electric current through a brine solution. This process also creates hydrogen that can serve as an environmentally friendly source of fuel.
Chlorine Derivatives
Chlorine derivatives are widely used in the chemical industry for such applications as chlorinated paraffins and solvents, allylics and epichlorohydrin. Epichlorohydrin (ECH) is used in the creation of glycerol, plastics, epoxy glues and resins, epoxy diluents and elastomers.
Chlor-Alkali
Chlor-alkali products are such substances as ferric chloride or hydrochloric acid. The latter is used in industrial and chemical applications and aids the pharmaceuticals industry, metallurgy, electronics and the food industry. Other substances that form a part of the chlor-alkali group are potassium carbonate, potassium hydroxide, sodium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite (used commonly as a cleaning agent and disinfectant, especially by utility companies).
